Housing Social – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Housing Social, a social media platform focused on real estate properties (the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Platform Owner

Housing Social is owned and operated by Dan Petrie, an individual, and operates under the laws of Australia.

2. Eligibility

There is no minimum age requirement to access or use the Platform.
Users may browse listings and content without registering an account.
Certain actions (including liking, commenting, or inquiring about listings or posts) require user authentication.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

Users may create an account using:

Email and password
Google login
Facebook login

3.2 Account Responsibility

Maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials
All activities performed under their account

Housing Social is not responsible for unauthorized access caused by user negligence.

4. User Roles

Housing Social supports three user roles:

Agent – may create property listings
Creator – may create content
Standard User – may browse, like, comment, and inquire

Each account may have only one role.

4.1 Agent Verification

Agent roles require verification. Role requests are reviewed and approved by an administrator or operator before access is granted.

5. Content Ownership & License

Users retain ownership of all content they submit to the Platform.

By posting content, users grant Housing Social a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, promote, and distribute such content for platform operation and marketing purposes.

6. Listings & Content Rules

6.1 Listings

Listings are not moderated prior to publication.
Duplicate listings are allowed provided there are slight variations.
External links are permitted, provided the listing is also posted on the Platform.

6.2 Prohibited Content

Users may not post:

Fake or misleading listings
Illegal property listings
Harassing, abusive, or defamatory content
Spam or automated submissions
Scraped or harvested data
Impersonation of individuals or entities

7. Content Removal

Housing Social does not remove user content or suspend accounts without notice.

Any removal or restriction, if required, will follow reasonable notification where applicable.

8. Real Estate Disclaimer

All property details, pricing, availability, and representations are the sole responsibility of the posting agent or user.

Housing Social does not participate in transactions, negotiations, or agreements.

Any transaction occurs entirely outside the Platform.

Housing Social disclaims liability for scams, disputes, misrepresentations, or losses resulting from off-platform interactions.

9. Payments, Ads & Promotions

The Platform supports advertisements and promoted listings.

Payments may be handled through third-party services such as Google AdSense or by contacting the operator externally.

Housing Social does not process or store payment information directly.

10. Messaging & Communication

The Platform does not provide internal chat or messaging.

Inquiries redirect users to external email communication.

Housing Social does not monitor or control external communications.

11. Service Availability

Housing Social may temporarily suspend or interrupt the Platform for maintenance, updates, or technical reasons without liability.

12. Limitation of Liability

Housing Social is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Use of the Platform is at the user’s discretion and responsibility.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be resolved through arbitration, in accordance with applicable Australian laws.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
